Being a Best Places to Work in PA Company and Labor & Employment Law Update


Prior to the Best Places to Work in PA awards event, human resource professionals are invited to attend the Being a Best Places to Work in PA Company and Labor & Employment Law Update. Each year, this afternoon seminar focuses on ways companies can improve their culture and HR practices. Attendees learn about current Labor & Employment laws, and hear from companies who maintain their place and continue to move up the annual "Best Places to Work in PA" list.

2012 Agenda

The afternoon kicked off with Brandon G. Phillips, President & CEO of Global HR Research, LLC, who explained how to find the best employees. Next, attendees heard from former White House correspondent, Donald L. Rheem, Partner at Engagient, LCC, who discussed employee engagement and how a company can build high performance cultures. After a short break, attendees returned to hear from Catherine E. Walters, Esquire at Saul Ewing LLP who talked about the most recent court cases on Labor and Employment Law. The seminar concluded with a panel discussion titled: "Staying on and Moving up the List". Moderator, Peter Burke, President of Best Companies Group, talked with HR directors from Somerset Trust Company, JPL, and G.A. & F.C. Wagman, Inc., who each discussed their innovative HR programs and policies, and how they have continued to stay on and move up the annaul "Best Places to Work" list.
