Those funds — about $10.2 million in gaming and more than $1.4 million in tourism — come from the county's annual share of slots revenue at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in East Hanover Township and a portion of hotel tax revenue.

The gaming grants, which are used primarily for infrastructure, transportation, emergency services and public health and safety projects, will aid 49 projects this year, according to the county.

More than $3.7 million went to the host municipality and contiguous local governments. East Hanover received about $2.2 million this year for a new firehouse and public works building, bridge project, a wastewater treatment plant upgrade and municipal vehicles and equipment.

The Dauphin County Industrial Development Authority received $515,000 for administration. Harrisburg received $409,000 for 10 new police patrol vehicles.

On the tourism side, 28 projects were funded by the commissioners.

Dauphin County Community and Economic Development and Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau each received $250,000. The bureau received an additional $50,000 for Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country.

A $58,000 portion was dedicated to reserving space at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center for a sportsmen's show. That comes after this year's Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show was postponed.
